Expert Marine Construction and Shoreline Protection for Brevard County

Precision Docks & Seawalls has spent over 20 years helping Merritt Island homeowners build and repair seawalls and docks that stand the test of time. As a licensed local team, we take the stress out of the process by handling all the permitting and engineering for you. We focus on getting the job done right so your waterfront property remains safe, solid, and built to last.

Vinyl plank is our recommendation for most residential jobs. It lasts about 30 years and will not corrode in saltwater. While concrete is rigid and tends to crack when the soil shifts, vinyl panels interlock to create a flexible, solid wall. We use marine-grade stainless steel hardware to make sure everything holds up against the Indian River Lagoon tides.

Keep an eye out for soil washing out or sinkholes opening up behind the wall. You should also watch for cracks wider than a quarter inch or any sections that look like they are leaning or bulging toward the water. If you see these signs, it is best to get an inspection early before a small repair turns into a complete rebuild.

We do. Dealing with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and local city rules can be a headache. We handle all the paperwork and coordination to make sure your project meets every requirement for shoreline work in Merritt Island and the surrounding areas.

It is a good idea to check everything at least once a year and right after any major storm. We look for loose hardware, wood rot, and signs of marine borers in the pilings. Catching small bits of erosion or rusty hardware early is the best way to keep your whole structure from falling apart later.

Once we have the permits in hand, most residential projects take about one to three weeks. Complex designs or tricky site access can add a little time, but we keep you updated throughout the process and stick to our schedule so you can get back to enjoying your waterfront.

Your lift capacity should be at least 20 percent higher than the boat's dry weight plus fuel, gear, and water. You also have to factor in the weight of T-tops or full livewells. We make sure the wiring and rail setup are professionally installed and matched to your boat's specific weight for safe, reliable lifting.

Riprap is a great choice if you want to absorb wave energy instead of just bouncing it back into the water. We use layers of granite or limestone to stabilize the soil and create a natural habitat for fish. It is perfect for areas with calmer water or as extra protection in front of an existing wall to help it last longer.
